Careers
MFA students in painting have opportunities to become professional artists or work commercially in art related fields. The MFA program in Painting prepares students to work in any art related field that requires a good understanding of color, composition, concept development and art production. Some graduates go on to become illustrators, gallery directors, studio artists, teachers, community art directors, etc.
Students who graduate with a Master of Fine Arts degree are qualified to teach at institutions of higher education such as universities and community colleges. Galleries and regional arts councils often require MFA degree for various positions. The program also prepares students to exhibit work at galleries and museums.
