School of Art Undergraduate Degrees
The BGSU School of Art offers the following degrees:- Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in a Studio Art
The BFA degree is designed to support the development of professional studio artists and K-12 art teachers. BGSU students may choose from the following majors: -
- Art Education (with a specialization in 2D Studies or 3D Studies)*
- Digital Arts (includes Computer Animation, Digital Imaging and Interactive Media)
- Graphic Design (includes Advertising Design, ID Design, Three-Dimensional Design and Typography)
- Three-Dimensional Studies (includes Ceramics, Glass, Jewelry/Metals and Sculpture)
- Two-Dimensional Studies (includes Painting and Drawing, Photography and Printmaking)
- * Degrees in Art Education cannot be completed in four years and require an extended amount of time to complete all education requirements.
- Bachelor of Art (BA)
The BA degree is a liberal arts degree designed to support the development of professionals with careers in art-related fields. BA students may choose the major of: -
- Art (includes Two-Dimensional Studies, Three-Dimensional Studies, and Digital Arts)
- Art History
- and a minor in another (non-art) area of study.

School of Art Graduate Degrees
- Master of Fine Art (MFA) in a Studio Art
The MFA degree is an advanced professional degree that focuses on preparing students to become either professional artists or teachers of art. Students may specialize in: -
- Digital Arts (including Computer Animation, Digital Imaging and Interactive Media)
- Three-Dimensional Studies (includes Ceramics, Glass, Jewelry/Metals and Sculpture)
- Two-Dimensional Studies (includes Painting and Drawing, Photography* and Printmaking)
   *Applications are not being accepted for the year 2009-2010.
- Master of Art (MA) in Art History
The MA in Art History is an advanced degree that aims to develop proficient art historians.
