Tea Time: Angie Zielinski

Where: Fine Arts Center - Ceramics Studio
TEA TIME is meant to be a half hour presentation where we will be inviting faculty from around the school and university to come and give short slide talks while having tea and donut holes. It is supposed to be a nice break at the end of the week where students and faculty can relax and exchange ideas while having a bit of tea and sugar!
Bring your own mug! This is open to the BGSU community - Please join us when you can.

Featuring the work of artists from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia
Hands Dancing is an artistic and cultural celebration of color and life in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. The exhibition will feature approximately 20 works which have been traveling internationally since Summer 2006.

Visiting artist: Printmaker, Sarah Smelser

Sarah Smelser will discuss her work in printmaking. In conjunction with her visit, an opening reception for the exhibition Collected Verses: Recent Monoprints by Sarah Smelser will be held at the Hudson Gallery, 5645 N. Main St., Sylvania on Friday, Nov. 3 from 7-9pm. Smelser is currently an assistant professor in printmaking at Illinois State University and co-founder of Manneken Press.

Violence And Art Film Series: American History X

Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton) returns from prison to find his younger brother, Danny (Edward Furlong), caught in the same web of racism and hatred that landed him in prison. After Derek's father is killed in the line of duty by a minority, Derek's view of mankind is altered, but while in prison, he discovers that there is good and bad in every race. The task before him now is to convince Danny of his newfound enlightenment. Edward Norton's performance was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Actor.

The Art of Tony Hepburn
Tony Hepburn is the current Ceramic Artist-in-Residence at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills MI. His work has been exhibited extensively nationally and internationally. Hepburn has written prolifically about Ceramics and Sculpture for many major national publications including Art in America, American Craft and American Ceramics. He is considered as a leading intellect in the field of Ceramics, and has contributed greatly to the field for over thirty years. He holds an A.T.D. from London University, and an N.D.D. from Camberwell College of Art, U.K.
