ARTalks: Exciting Additions to the Asian Collection at the Toledo Museum of Art

Carolyn Putney, Curator of Asian Art, Toledo Museum of Art

Carolyn Putney came to Toledo to work at the Toledo Museum of Art the day after she finished her graduate studies at Florida State University in 1978. Originally she held the position of the Visual Resources Curator and taught Asian art history part time for the University of Toledo. After working with the Asian collection for some time and helping to reinterpret the galleries she was appointed Associate Curator of Asian Art and at the same time to a senior management position in 1999. In 2003 she was named full curator and was also asked to head the curatorial department. In 2004, Ms. Putney was made Director of Collections in addition to her curatorial roles, and in 2005 the University of Toledo gave her a prestige appointment of Research Professor of Art History.

From branding campaigns to the web and everything in between, Mark Murphy does it all.?? When it comes to investigating culture Mark knows how to stir things up and get people talking. He has collaborated with Sony, Brandon Boyd/Incubus, the Clayton Brothers/Jeff Soto/Ray Caesar (Fine Artists), Sony Little Big Planet and Von Dutch, which are prime examples of cultural innovation.
