Visiting Artist Lecture
An Internationally renowned artist from Argentina

Fine Arts Center, BGSU
Visual artist and independent scholar. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1953, where she lives and works. She graduated of the National University of Córdoba, Argentina, where she led the Printmaking and Art History Departments for 15 years. She lectures widely about new and digital media and her articles has been published nationally and internationally as a collaborator in “Printmaking Today”, UK; “Grapheion”, Prague, Czech Republic; Art Notes in New York City, USA; “Papel&Estampa” and “Observador Daltónico” in Argentina. She has been selected by the Argentine National Academy of Fine Arts as one in ten best printmakers in her country and nominated for the Grand Prix in Printmaking in 1998,2000 and 2004. She is the founder and current director of Proyecto’ace, an international art center focused on printmaking and its interfaces with photography, design and digital media. She is the International Member at Large at the Southern Graphic Council Executive Board for 2008-2010 period in the United States.

Artist Lecture "Many Places Later" by Iris Eichenberg

The jewelry and metals program at Bowling Green State University is pleased to introduce the Lecture Many Places Later by Artist in Residence and Head of Metalsmithing at Cranbrook Academy of Art in MI, Iris Eichenberg, on Friday, March 26.
About the Speaker
After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1994, Iris Eichenberg worked as an independent artist and art educator, as well as a part-time curator, and co-organizer of art-related events. She began teaching jewelry in 1996 at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and has given numerous workshops at various art academies in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America. Eichenberg became Head of the Jewelry Department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2000, a position she held until accepting an appointment as Artist in Residence and Head of the Metalsmithing Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 2007. Eichenberg’s work can be found in museums in various European countries as well as the United States, including the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Schmuck Museum in Pforzheim (Germany), the Fondation National d’Art Contemporain in Paris (France), the Mint Museum in Charlotte (North Carolina), and the Rotasa Foundation in Mill Valley (California).
