Ohio Medieval Colloquium

BGSU is hosting the Ohio Medieval Colloquium this year on Saturday, October 24th in the Student Union on campus (room 315). Come listen to the most recent scholarship in medieval studies by professors teaching in Ohio universities.

Professor Allie Terry (BGSU, Art History) will present her research on “Networks of Urban Secrecy: Anonymous Drop-Boxes and the Transmission of Shame in Florence,” in the late afternoon session (c. 3:30/4:00 p.m.). The research is part of a larger book project, entitled "Secret Spaces of Early Modern Europe" contracted with UPenn Press for 2011.

Attendance at the colloquium is free open to the public. We are indebted to the Richard Firth Green and the Ohio Medieval Colloquium, as well as the Departments of English and History at Bowling Green State University, for the opportunity to host this event. ARTalks: Recent work. Anne Senstad, installation artist, New York and Oslo, Norway

Anne Katrine Senstad is a Norwegian artist living in New York and Oslo and the artist selected for the 90 foot x 27 foot Percent for Art artwork in the main lobby of the Wolfe Center. She has exhibited at Zendai Moma in Shanghai, Museum da Casa Brasileira in Sao Paulo, Noorderlicht in Holland, Galleri JMS in Oslo, Norway, Houston Center for Photography and in New York at Gary Snyder Fine Art, Gallery Nine5 and Bjorrn Ressle Gallery.

In 2007 her work was chosen by the Nobel Peace Center to represent the traveling exhibition Envisioning Change, hosted by The Bozar Museum, Brussels and the Ministry of Culture Monaco. Her site-specific installation, The Light House was shown in New Orleans with KK Projects, and during the Biennial; Prospect 1, in 2008.

She is currently creating a 1 acre Agricultural Land Art piece in Theriot, Louisiana, in collaboration with a local farm and KK Projects, and a Site Specific Light installation in Buenos Aires, to open in November 2009 in collaboration with VIBA.
