TEA TIME with Allie Terry
October 21, 2005
Where: Fine Arts Center - Ceramics Studio
3:30pm
Reconstructing a Florentine Past: Current Research in Art History:
I intend to use the teatime to discuss how art historical research functions within Renaissance studies: the process of discovery toward my dissertation topic, how one goes about archival research and onsite examination of architectural and pictorial sites, how the theoretical implications of the project need to be grounded in the visual evidence, etc. Then I plan to speak on my new interests that have spun from the dissertation research: primarily, my new project on "The Craft of Torture: Bronze Sculptures and Public Punishment in Fifteenth Century Italy."TEA TIME is meant to be a half hour presentation where we will be inviting faculty from around the school and university to come and give short slide talks while having tea and donut holes. It is supposed to be a nice break at the end of the week where students and faculty can relax and exchange ideas while having a bit of tea and sugar!
