Moving Metal: Raising Workshop & Slide Lecture
April 16 through April 17, 2004
Where: Fine Arts Center - Workshop/Sign up: Room 101; Slide Lecture: Room 1101
Master Metalsmith Danielle Crissman, who specializes in raising with plastic hammers and stakes will be conducting an intensive 2-day workshop and evening slide lecture that will focus on hammering flat sheets of metal into 3-dimensional forms. The use of chasing and repousse to manipulate surfaces will also be explored. The BGSU Metals and Jewelry Department is excited to be hosting this opportunity for hands-on instruction of a relatively new approach to an ancient process. *Participants must purchase their own materials.* Workshop: Friday, April 16th and Saturday, April 17th 9:00am 4:30pm Slide Lecture: *Free/Open to the Public* Friday, April 16th 7:00pm Fine Arts Center Room 1101 Workshop Sign up in the Metals/Jewelry Studio Fine Arts Center Room 101

On-site Portfolio Review

Admission to Bowling Green State University as an undergraduate Fine Arts major, involves both admission to the University (University Application) and approval to the School of Art through a portfolio review. Advanced scheduled appointments are required. While it is not necessary to be fully accepted by the University at the time you schedule your portfolio review, it is recommended that your undergraduate application be on file when you come for your review. The Ferreus Musike Project by Brian Glaze

A collaborative, cross-disciplinary effort between MFA sculptor Brian Glaze and The New Music Ensamble of the College of Musical Arts,... This one-time performance will include large-scale metal sculptural instruments created by Glaze; a musical performance composed specifically for these instruments and performed by the The New Music Ensamble; dance and digital technology.
