Visiting Artist: Isabel Rocamora presents

Isabel Rocamora is an anti-gravity artist working in the medium of theatre, site-specific creations, film and new technology. She trained in classical theatre and film, physical performance and aerial circus skills. In 1993 she co-founded Momentary Fusion Aerial Dance-Theatre with the aim to explore "anti-gravity" performance and create a genre that fused dance, aerial acrobatics, theatre and film. Rocamora now works as an actress, director and independent artist. Her current work-in-progress uses video projections and motion capture to explore concepts of memory and how memory is stored in the body. Visiting Metalsmith: Rocio Heredia presents

Where: 5:00pm, Room 101 (metals Studio) of the Fine Arts Center
Rocio is a metalsmith from Monterrey, the capital of Nuevo Leon, in northeast Mexico. She began her foray into in the art metal world by creating ornamental panels with a religious theme, both Catholic and Judaic, and studied with the Master Silversmith Valentin Yotkov, in Brooklyn, New York. Her artistic and creative mentor, Master Efren Ordonez, a painter, has collaborated with Rocio to create panels featuring painted human features. Her work was showcased at the Loyola Cultural Center of Monterrey in the one-woman show titled Divine Inspiration. Her works are in private collections in Mexico, the United States, Switzerland, Israel, Spain and Italy. Co-sponsors include: Student Metals Art Council (SMAC); the Medici Circle of the School of Art

Visiting Curator: Gail M. Brown presents "The Passionate Professional"

Gail M. Brown, trained as a printmaker in etching and lithography, is an Independent Curator of Contemporary Craft. Her focus is to enhance visibility and education about craft in the larger visual arts community; she is passionate about the unique potential of craft for the communication of personal, issue oriented and aesthetic ideas coupled with extensive examination of the chosen material process. She has curated exhibitions in ceramics, metals, wood, fiber and mixed media for various nonprofit organizations and commercial galleries, including Looking In The Mirror: Aspects Of Figurative Ceramics, Attitude & Action; North American Figurative Jewelry; Political Clay, Women's World- A Work In Progress;and Social Fiber. Visiting Art Historian: Roger M.Berkowitz presents

Roger M. Berkowitz has been the Director of the Toledo Museum of Art since 1999, following 25 years at the Museum. He received his doctorate in art history from the University of Michigan and has coordinated many exhibitions, including El Greco of Toledo; The Art of Louis Comfort Tiffany; and Impressionism: Selections from Five American Museums. He has served on a National Advisory Panel for the Pew Charitable Trusts Program for Art Museums and Communities and on the Arts and Artifacts Indemnity Advisory Panel for the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities. He was a Fellow in the 2001 Harvard Program for Art Museum Directors and recently received the Ohio Governor's Award for Arts Administration for 2001-2002. He has announced his retirement from the Museum in January 2004. Co-sponsors include the Medici Circle of the School of Art
