Visiting Artist Lecture: Amanda Burk, "Drawing the In-between: Departure and Return"

Amanda Burk has taught drawing and painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD) University and is currently the Brock University Visiting Artist in Residence, where she has taught for the last two years in St. Catherine's, Ontario. Ms. Burk holds a MFA in Drawing and Painting from NSCAD University and a BFA in Painting from the University of Waterloo.

Visiting Artist Lecture: Judith Joy Ross

Judith Joy Ross is internationally known for her ability to render people with intense emotional acuity. Using an 8x10 view camera and 'printing-out' paper that she gold tones, Ms. Ross photographs 'important people'- senators, congressmen/ women- and those whose lives are affected by their decisions-visitors to the Vietnam Memorial, Americans, days after 9/11, voters after election day '04, people in public parks and children in public schools. Students in photography and those outside who have a special interest in social commentary through portraiture will benefit. Ms. Ross pictures show head on these faces that are our faces.

Admission to Bowling Green State University as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree candidate, requires both admission to the University (university application) and approval to the School of Art through a portfolio review. While it is not necessary to be fully accepted by the University at the time you schedule your portfolio review, it is recommended that your undergraduate application be on file when you come for your review.
