Visiting Artist's Lecture: Linda Christianson


February 5 through February 6, 2003

Where: Fine Arts Center, room 204

The Student Ceramic Organization is sponsoring a two-day workshop with artist Linda Christianson. She will provide demonstrations on 2/5/03 from 9am-12pm and 1-5pm and on 2/6/03 from 9am-12pm and 1-3pm in the Ceramics Studio, room 1218.
As part of the two-day workshop, Linda Christianson will offer a slide lecture on Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at 8:30pm in room 204. The event is sponsored by the Student Ceramic Organization and is free and open to the public.

Workshop on Mokume-Gane: The Wood-Grain Metal

Friday, January 31st and Saturday, February 1st 9:00am - 4:30pm Master metalsmith Tedd McDonah will be conducting an intensive 2-day workshop and evening slide lecture on this traditional Japanese technique of creating patterns in metal. The BGSU Metals and Jewelry Department is excited to be hosting this opportunity for hands-on instruction in the creation and patterning of participants own billets of material. Admission to Bowling Green State University as an art major, involves both admission to the University (University Application) and approval to the School of Art through a portfolio review. Advanced scheduled appointments are required. While it is not necessary to be fully accepted by the University at the time you schedule your portfolio review, it is recommended that your undergraduate application be on file when you come for your review. Dr. Rickie Solinger: Pregnancy and Power in the U.S.: Women's Struggle Over Time

Pregnancy and Power in the U.S.: Women's Struggle Over Time is presented conjunction with the Wake Up Little Susie: Pregnancy and Power before Roe vs. Wade and Warnings exhibitions in the Willard Wankelman Gallery through 1/31/03. Solinger will discuss national policies, municipal politics, and medical practices during the middle decades of the twentieth century that attempted to strip women of the right to make decisions about fertility and maternity. The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by the BGSU Women's Center, Women's Studies. BGSU Libraries, History Department, and Fine Arts Center.
