Robotic Art Exhibition

The work of students from Brad McCombs summer Robotic Art class will be on display in front of the Dorthy Uber Bryan Gallery. The exhibit opens at 6:30 pm September 2, 2003.

Expressions: Surface, Thread, Fiber


August 1 through September 9, 2003

Where: Bowen Thompson Student Union Galleries

Expressions: Surface, Thread, Fiber is an exhibition of work by students in the Fiber Program of the School of Art at Bowling Green State University. Included are quilted hangings, lengths of fabric called yardage, hand-made felt, and installation work. Each piece is either dyed or discharge (removal of color from fabric) or a combination of the two. Individual works are further embellished by a combination of fiber techniques such as embroidery, beading, applique, and pieced work.

New Talent: Incoming School of Art Freshman Scholarship Recipients


June 19 through July 25, 2003

Where: Bowen Thompson Student Union Art Galleries

Ten incoming freshman BFA majors who have received scholarships from BGSU's School of Art will exhibit their work in the Bowen Thompson Student Union Art Galleries from June 19th - July 25th. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm and Saturday through Sunday from 10am - 5:00pm. A public reception featuring the artists is scheduled Monday, June 23rd from 4:30-5:30pm.

Bekele Mekonnen


May 19 through June 12, 2003

Where: Bowen Thompson Student Union Art Galleries

Bekele Mekonnen, Former Director of the Addis Ababa School of the Fine Arts and Design in Ethiopia, will exhibit work completed at the BGSU School of Art in an exhibition at the BGSU Bowen- Thompson Student Union Art Galleries from May 19th through June 12th, 2003. Mekonnen is currently a visiting artist in residence at Bowling Green State University's School of Art for the three-month period of March 18 through June 16, 2003. A public reception featuring the artist will occur on Thursday, May 22nd at 5pm. The Bowen-Thompson Student Union Art Galleries hours are Monday -Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm and Saturday -Sunday from 10am-5:00pm. "Bits and Pieces" by Digital Arts students
