2008 Undergraduate Student Art Exhibition Prospectus Available

The 2008 Undergraduate Student Art Exhibition Prospectus is available in the ARC and on-line. This brochure gives all of the important information about who is eligible, the schedule of deadlines and events, presentation requirements and the procedures for entering.


Entries are due on Tuesday, January 22, so make sure to consider your entry possibilities NOW!


Entry Cards and Publicity Cards will be available in the ARC at the beginning of spring semester.

Where: Fine Art Building (School of Art)

ArtsX 2007 is the largest collaboration across the arts in a single night at BGSU, with participation of every area in every division of the School of Art, in addition to performances by students and faculty in the College of Music, Department of Theatre & Film, Architecture, Creative Writing, the Arts Village and more. The event highlights contemporary art practice and encourages the Bowling Green and northwest Ohio community to interact with the arts. Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7th at the School of Art on the BGSU campus, performances, demonstrations, games, screenings and sales will be ongoing until 10 p.m. in the evening. All are welcome. Free of charge.

Curator of Glass, Toledo Museum of Art

Lecture: On Glass

Jutta-Annette Page is Curator of Glass at the Toledo Museum of Art. She was the curator of European glass at The Corning Museum of Glass from 1993 to 2003. She holds an MA in Visual Arts, studied jewelry design at San Diego State University, received an MA E in Jewelry/Metalsmithing from RISD , and an MA and PhD from Brown University. A respected author, with an extensive array of publications, Dr. Page is a visiting professor at The Bard Graduate School for Studies in the Decorative Arts and Chair of the International Council of Museums' (ICOM) Glass Committee.

Lecture: Enochs on Stone

Dale Enochs is a freelance sculptor living and working in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his BFA from Indiana University at Fort Wayne and his MFA from IU at Bloomington. He has taught at Wabash College, DePauw University, Ball State, and Vincennes University. Dale has been the recipient of numerous awards including three Ford Foundation Fellowships and his work is included in more than eighteen public and corporate collections throughout the US and Japan. He is most notably known for the extreme elegance of his sculptural forms, as well as his highly innovative use of stone.

Artist, President of Mine-Control, Research Scientist, Center for Systems and Synthetic Biology, University of Texas at Austin

Lecture: Merging Art and Science: The Artwork of Zack Booth Simpson

Zack Booth Simpson creates interactive immersive algorithmic artwork using computers, projectors, and cameras. Drawing from a long history as a game developer and a broad knowledge of science, he creates simulations that draw participants into a world they often find challenging, magical, and thought provoking. The natural sciences, especially psychology, ecology, biology, and physics, influence all of his work. Zack is also a research scientist in molecular biology, his principal interest is studying the cell as a computational device.
