Lecture: Animation at Pixar, Andrew Gordon

Andrew Gordon, from Pixar will be discussing the animations he worked on over the last 10 years. He will show animation production clips from films such as Toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc., and The Incredibles. His work on the "Speaking Whale" scene in Finding Nemo led to an award for "Outstanding Character Animation" from the Visual Effects Society. Andrew studied animation in Vancouver and currently teaches at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He just wrapped up animation on Pixar's next film, "Ratatouille."

Recent Work

Richard Benson has worked as a photographer, printer and teacher since the nineteen sixties. Dean of Yale University's School of Art from 1986 to 2006, he has received two NEA publication grants, two Guggenheim Fellowships and a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship. Benson's photographic work has centered on landscapes and urban scenes. He worked for many years with an 8x10 camera, and printed the pictures in silver, platinum or ink. His photographic work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, The Yale University Art Gallery and many other institutions and private collections. He presently photographs with a digital camera and prints his pictures using ink jet printers.

Portfolio Review

Where: Fine Arts Center

Admission to Bowling Green State University as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree candidate, requires both admission to the University (university application) and approval to the School of Art through a portfolio review. While it is not necessary to be fully accepted by the University at the time you schedule your portfolio review, it is recommended that your undergraduate application be on file when you come for your review.

(This is NOT a National Portfolio Days event - This is an official review of art portfolios for application to the School of Art)
