Bowling Green State University's School of Art offers an extensive range of scholarships
and awards. The list below provides for each award: the award name, the eligibility and
submission criteria, and anticipated monetary total for the award. Please note students
who meet the minimum requirements listed are automatically considered for these awards
unless otherwise noted.

Scholarship consideration for the 2008-09 academic year is given to those applicants whose portfolio is approved by March 1, 2008 or submitting a mail-in portfolio that is received by the School of Art Office before or by March 1, 2008.

Candidates must be full-time BFA student majoring in graphic design with a 3.0 minimum gpa. The scholarship is renewable, if criteria is met. The selection of the student is made by the School of Art faculty with consideration given to academic achievement, participation in extra-curricular activities and demonstrated financial need. Beverly A. Fischer Art History Scholarship

The scholarship is dedicated to a full-time student majoring in Art History at BGSU. The recipient cannot be the recipient of a full scholarship from another organization or BGSU. Financial need is a requirement and must be documented by the student completing the Student Aid Report (SAR) of the FASFA. The scholarship may be renewed. The minimum gpa for an undergraduate is 2.5 and a graduate student must maintain a 3.0 GPA. Applications for the scholarship will be made available on February 1 of each school year at the School of Art, BGSU or may be downloaded from the Community Foundation website. Applications will be returned to the Division of Art History, BGSU by April 1 of each year. The student must make application on the designated form and will provide a cumulative college transcript in addition to a copy of the SAR of the FASFA including the EFC number. The recipient will be invited to the annual College of Arts and Sciences Awards Banquet in April. |

The scholarship recipient must be ranked as a junior at the time of the Undergraduate Student Exhibition with a minimum gpa of 3.0. The recipient will be a student who has shown the most improvement in the area of drawing or painting over the last 3 years. A committee of 3 School of Art Professors who teach in the areas will select the award recipient. The recipient will be invited to the annual College of Arts and Sciences Awards Banquet in April. |

Recognizes artistic achievement in the field of ceramics, with preference given to wood-fire ceramic students. Emphasis is placed on the following attributes: strong work ethic, devotion to community, passion for learning, intellectual curiosity, and an emphasis on ceramic investigation. Students must submit an application made available in the spring semester to the head of the Ceramics area. The recipient will be selected by a committee. The recipient will be invited to the annual College of Arts and Sciences Awards Banquet in April. |
